Forms of Mediumship

One question that came up a lot in this cycle of my readings were people questioning if they were a Medium or not. The only thing the being a medium means is a conduit of spirit. So, let me give you examples of mediumship.

First of all, let me start by saying, you do NOT have to read for others to be a medium. Some of us are just called to do so. Also just because you have gifts, doesn't mean you need to give messages to anyone. Now let's get into the types of mediumship.

1. The Messenger. This is someone who may or may not use divination tools (tarot, pendulum, water/fire/smoke/etc). They "hear" messages fully in their head and can give them directly to a person. It can feel like thoughts but in a different voice.

2. The Seer. This is someone who has visions. Either awake or while sleeping. They don't necessarily hear anything, but moreso see stories playing out. They may even be able to see spirits around people. Or see peoples auras.

3. The Crafter. This is a mediumship ability that I feel like many overlook. But some have the ability to create with their hands Ancestral tools and relics without ever having being taught them. I would say cooking also falls under this.

4. The Empath. You are able to pick up on the emotions that spirit brings. Don't forget that every living person also has a spirit, so it typically is first noticed by being overwhelmed by others emotions. This is not just sympathy. You fully experience others emotions.

5. The Touch Senstive. These are people who can feel spirit. Tingling on the arms/neck/spine. Upset stomach before something bad happens. Feeling of heaviness when consumed by spirit. Taps on the shoulder.

6. The Griot. This is someone who has knowledge of Ancestral stories and songs who share them with community. This is someone who knows the entire family lineage and who came from where. They pass down the Ancestral history and life lessons to the next generation.

I'm sure I could continue this list as I think of more. And this is definitely not ALL types of mediumship. I just want people to get out of this box mediumship is put into.

What are some forms of Mediumship that you have encountered on your journey?
