Looking "Regular" - Glamour Magick?
For Hoodoos, looking like "regular folk" is part of our magick. And I would actually consider it glamour magick.
Looking unassuming is how you kept yourself safe and your family protected. The essence of that still rings true today.
I noticed that many are surprised at how "normal" I look. Really meaning they expected some theatricized version of a Hoodoo.
Have you ever ran into people surprised that you practice because of your looks? Or have you ever caught yourself judging someone because they didn't look like what you thought a Hoodoo would look like?

i love this so much bc glamour has been such a big part of throwing folks off my scent & keeping them out my business. they expect a lot of us to look like erykah badu in the ‘on & on’ video a lot of times. no lashes, no nails, no wigs & they have no idea how much magick is actually on me. i love the use of glamour as protection & im blessed to see how it has unfolded as more than just a confidence boost, but a self love & ancestral journey.
