Love Work
Hi everyone! I’m curious about everyone’s opinion on love and attraction workings
My understanding of love work in the African American Hoodoo context is that it was originally done by slaves to help keep their families together. I take that very seriously so I only see myself doing a binding type of love work when I’m married.
Attraction work is different in my opinion. You can do work to attract all kinds of things but I’m really interested in other people’s opinions and experiences with attracting love.

I've actually been thinking about this a lot in regards to marriage. As you know, for a long time black people were seen as property instead of people. So we were not allowed to marry. I am thinking a lot of these binding rituals was our way of spiritually securing a marriage. Especially during a time when you could be ripped away from a partner. When I marry, I plan on creating a jar with my spouse as part of my ceremony.
