Anyone know how to make Cascarilla?

Hello :)

I have a bunch of brown eggshells that I’ve saved over time from cooking & baking. I’d like to make a powder from them, but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Does anyone have experience with making cascarilla, or know of a recipe / preparation I can use to get started with making it on my own? I’ve def searched up how to make it on my own, but I’ve only come across untrustworthy sources, stemming from websites ran by white people who know damn well they shouldn’t be trifling with anything pertaining to ATR’s in general. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I see I got a few views - if anyone has anything to say, feel free to comment if it’s pertaining to my ask. I’d like to participate on this forum more & it’d be really helpful if folks engaged more often, as traffic has slowed down here considerably compared to when Jah first opened this space.

Florida Water

How many of you make your own florida water? I’ve noticed a lot of recipes are very different. I’m reading a recipe from African American Herbalism and it’s has a lot of ingredients. And i found other ones that have comparatively fewer. There seem to be a lot of ways to make it. Why are there so many different recipes?

I havent attempted to make my own, but my suspicion is that the different recipes are from different regions/lineages. Whenever I am reading a new recipe for anything, I check in with my ancestors to see if the vibe with it or want to make some adjustments.

Spiders

A large spider was in my home and I reacted badly and killed it. Something felt off when i killed it. Something Aside from the guilt I felt when I realized i could have done something else. Is there any special meaning to spiders in your home? And did i mess up by killing it? other than the fact that i unnecessarily took a life when i could have probably found a way to remove it

On another note, I've heard some folks use spiderwebs in their workings -- if I'm not mistaken, Michele Lee's Working the Roots has some information about it.
