The Power of Trans/GNC/Queer Folks

Hey there,

I'm pretty new to this, but I know in a lot of spiritual circles that queer folks, especially trans and gnc folks, were seen as having a special spiritual gifts. Personally, I'm a transgender man, and this has come with a lot of hardship, but a lot of personal power and a very different perspective on life. I would love to know how my identity can be tied into my spiritual journey. My question is, what kind of power are Masisi seen to have, and what are some resources where I could read more on this specifically? Anyone have personal stories to share about their journey and their queerness? Thank you :)

Yo this right here! Personally I feel that Masisi/QTGNC have held the front line alongside the women and femmes spiritually/culturally and in many other ways. Also because our perspectives and lineage deviates from simply being physical we are able to help mend and notice dimensions and perspectives that are otherwise unseen. That's just a thought. Loving this thread!

Resource List

Gratitude and much love y'all! We outchea! I have a lot of energy and enthusiasm for afro-queer hoodoo and rootwork vibes and realities. However, I really hope more folks continue to feel encouraged to take lead on keeping these threads and vibes going :-). Anyways, this thread is inspired by Jah's book resource google drive folder. What y'all reading, watching, hearing, in relation to queer hoodoo and our spiritual lineages. I'll be posting some stuff too that I'm exploring!

Masisi

Hey y'all thought I'd open up a thread for the Masisi: those that exist outside of what is seen as heterosexuality. We are all together in this work in my belief. However, it can be very helpful to have solid archives for queer and non-hetero rootworkers. Let me know what you think?
