What are yall’s thoughts on doing protection/healing work on behalf of someone who may not be open to root work or conjure? Is it ethical?

What are yall’s thoughts on doing protection/healing work on behalf of someone who may not be open to root work or conjure? Is it ethical?
Personally I do not do work for others without their explicit consent. I feel it is unethical and may have negative results if that person's own spirit or ancestors are offended or disapproving.
